Licensing support for Partners developing products and services to resell to end users
As an OS Partner you’ll get access to our world leading data products and services to help you meet the requirements of your customers. Our licensing is flexible and tailored to your needs. We want our Partners to have a licence that enables them to do what they want to do.
The starting point for organisations joining the OS Partner network is the Framework Contract for Partners (FCP). This contract sets out the terms and conditions for the commercial relationship between you (our Partners) and Ordnance Survey (OS).
Once you become an OS Partner and your Framework Contract is in place, we offer a range of contracts to enable specific uses:
| Contract | Explanation |
| Distribution contract | Sets out the terms by which Partners can resell OS data for an end user's own business use (internal administration and operation). The terms mirror those of our Framework Contract (Direct Customers) including the newly added free-to-use data terms. |
| Business solutions - online viewing contract | Provides digital products and/or services supplied as online viewing solutions enabling viewing of data by end users for their business use. End users may view data under two models: transaction or session. |
| Business solutions - data components contract | Terms for creating products or services in the form of data component solutions from OS data for your customers’ internal business use. This covers datasets you create using our data, so your customers can use components of OS data within their business. |
| Consumer solutions contract | Designed to meet the needs of Partners providing consumers with electronic products or services supplied as online or offline solutions in the form of leisure products or software packages. |
| Printed products contract | Covering the use of licensed data to create paper products of which the primary purpose is for use as a map. The products may either be printed onto paper or made available in an electronic raster format and not geo-referenced. |
| Tracking and scheduling contract | Providing end-users with a service for the purposes of tracking and/or scheduling but does not extend to navigation services. |
| Developer contract | For developing, evaluating, testing and demonstrating your products and/or services to third parties. OS data licensed under this contract is for your internal use only, aside from for demonstrating your products and/or services to third parties. |
| OS Net agreements | OS Net is a specific positional accuracy service offered by OS and is available to Partners who specialise in both hardware and software designed for Surveying Services, Agriculture and wider end-user solutions. |
