Our graduate scheme provides opportunities to develop your core technical expertise; to be our future technical experts, consultants, and leaders.

You can make a difference.

The programme is about providing you on-the-job learning and development, enhancing your technical and professional skills, and working together to identify where your skills and aspirations lie.

During the two-year programme, you will be put into teams and start working on projects and activities that build on your core technical expertise, and collaborate with key parts of the business such as the Data, Products, Innovation, Consultancy, and Technology areas of OS.

Your programme may also include the opportunity to spend time with some of our geospatial partners within the UK, such as wider Government bodies or with our commercial partners. You’ll work on real life projects, programmes, and business challenges interacting with key stakeholders and real customers. And all the while you have access to a learning programme that will help develop soft skills, and ensure you transition off the programme as a well-rounded professional.

The OS Graduate Programme will provide you with opportunities towards becoming our future technical experts, consultants, and future leaders.

Who is OS looking for?

Successful graduates at Ordnance Survey have a mindset to make a difference. It’s not just about having great qualifications; you’re motivated by doing the right thing, delivering positive impact, and you understand that it’s not just about what you do – but how you do it.

Our Graduate programmes are technical programmes, which means we particularly welcome applications from people studying the disciplines below. However, we are open to discussions with anybody that has a passion for making a real difference and a technical aptitude, whatever your field of study.

Where will I be based?

OS HQ is based in Southampton, Hampshire, and the time required to spend time in OS HQ will vary dependent on your placements. We do embrace a hybrid working model and give choice where we can, so our people can decide to work from our fantastic office or from home.

Our former graduates have told us that to get the most from our experiential graduate programme, you'll benefit from spending time at OS HQ. We therefore recommend that if you're not already within manageable travelling distance to consider traveling to OS HQ when required, or relocate closer if possible.
