Humans and geography

Here at Ordnance Survey (OS) we are researching how humans and machines can interact to help us better understand and navigate the world.

People and communities play a major role in our digital world. We’re using our expertise in geography, and how we interact with it, to support advancements in new technologies.

Our work is helping to develop the next generation of geographical resources, assisting emergency services to communicate more effectively with members of the public. We’re investigating how data can be stored and information communicated so that humans gain the most – for example by enabling autonomous vehicles to interact with passengers.
