Code-Point with polygons contract value (FOI221115)

This Freedom of Information request asks for contract values and periods for Ordnance Survey's outsourced creation of OS Code-Point with polygons.

Request for information - Ref No: FOI221115

Request

Thank you for your email of 9 November 2022, requesting information from Ordnance Survey in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) 2000, as set out in the extract below:

"Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I would like to request the awarded contract values and periods, between 2017 and 2023 inclusive, for your outsourced creation of OS Code-Point with Polygons. There appears be to be conflicting information published across different platforms.

For example: The following resource 'contracts finder' states a four-year contract, valued at £400,000, from January 2017 to January 2021. But the following 'Delta eSourcing' states that the same contract has an estimated value of £400,000 but an actual value of £300,560

Please confirm the actual amount price paid by OS for the creation of OS Code-Point with Polygons over the four-year term, February 2016 – February 2021.

Further, the following OS published spreadsheet 'contracts over 25k (xlsx)' shows a two-year contract valued at £110,400, but this seems to be almost half the annual value of the previous years

Please confirm that this was the actual price paid by OS for the creation of OS Code-Point with Polygons over a two-year term, February 2021 – February 2023."

Our response

I confirm that Ordnance Survey does hold the information you have requested.

Taking each request in turn, I confirm the following:

Please confirm the actual amount price paid by OS for the creation of OS Code-Point with Polygons over the four-year term, February 2016 – February 2021.

To confirm the four-year term is from February 2017 to February 2021 (not February 2016). The actual amount OS paid for the creation of OS Code-Point with polygons over this four-year term was £300,560. This is based on a quarterly charge of £18,785 per quarter.

Further, the following OS published spreadsheet shows a two-year contract valued at £110,400, but this seems to be almost half the annual value of the previous years: Please confirm that this was the actual price paid by OS for the creation of OS Code-Point with Polygons over a two-year term, February 2021 – February 2023.

To confirm the actual price paid by OS for the creation of Code-Point with polygons over a two-year term, from February 2021 to February 2023, was £110,400.  This was due to the quarterly charge reducing to £13,800 per quarter.
